According to most sources it takes the brain about 6 minutes - 8 minutes to become entrained by binaural beats or other forms of entrainment. When brainwave companies create their products they often start out the frequencies at a upper alpha level and then ramp it to the desired frequency level the particular mp3 or cd is created to produce in the listener. This way the mind is gradually led down to the alpha or theta etc., state. And the mp3 or cd can last anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour.

What we have done with our products is we have kept each mp3 in the series at 30 minutes, and added 2 frequencies to each mp3 with the exception of the Epsilon Series which consists of 1 frequency per mp3 (it is better to listen to the very low frequencies for a 1/2 hour or longer). In the Epsilon Series the entrainment stays on each frequency for 30 minutes. In the remaining mp3's the entrainment stays on each frequency for 15 minutes (no ramping, no up and down - just a solid entrainment for 15 minutes per frequency) thus making a 30 minute mp3. Since we are selling them in sections (Alpha Series, Theta Series, Delta Series, Epsilon Series) you can combine the tracks in your mp3 player to get the desired effects. For example, you may want to start of with Alpha level 2 (10.5 hz - 10 hz) combined with Alpha Level 3 (9.6 hz - 9.41 hz) and then be relaxed enough to try Theta Level 1 and so on. But it will vary from person to person. Some might benefit better (rather than jumping around) by staying on the same level for a week or month before moving to the next.

As for the ambient music, we have carefully selected ambient music tracks (a different ambient music track per mp3) that will not interfere with the entrainment in each mp3, and that won't confuse the mind from level to level. The ambient music might be a little higher in upper alpha sessions but by the time it gets to Epsilon level 10 or the lower delta levels the music is deeper bass. Nonetheless the music is not the main thing. The entrainment behind the music is what is important. The music is there so the harmonic box x (binaural beats and monaural beats) entrainment does not become boring listening to by itself.
